Position Qualifications: Completion of a nationally recognized accredited program of study with a curriculum including pharmacology and medication administration. Excellent communication skills and understanding of patient health care. Excellent computer skills required.

Experience: One year of experience as a medical assistant or training as a certified medical assistant.

Certifications: Current national certification through through the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) or National Healthcareer Association (NHA). Current BLS certification.

Referral Coordinator

The Robert C. Byrd Clinic, Lewisburg West Virginia

Assist patients in scheduling and obtaining medically appropriate services within or outside of Robert C. Byrd Clinic. Expedite the administrative requirements for patient referrals, ensuring that appropriate referrals are made, prior authorizations are obtained, and patients are notified of appointments. Act as a resource regarding referrals and insurance plan guidelines to expedite the referral process, and act as a liaison between providers and patients.

Position Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent required. Excellent computer skills required. Knowledge of medical terminology required. Strong communication skills required.

Experience: One year of related experience in a medical setting preferred. Experience with preauthorization, and knowledge about the regulations of various payer sources highly preferred.

Registered Nurse (RN) Care Coordinator

The Robert C. Byrd Clinic, Lewisburg West Virginia

Candidates must possess the skills and experience to assist in improving the health of patients with multiple chronic conditions while helping the clinic achieve value-based care goals. Position will involve case management for the CMS Chronic Care Program, Transitional Care Management (TCM), Medicare Annual Wellness Visits (MAWV), and other care coordination programs. Successful candidate will be able to collaborate with physicians, mid-level providers, nursing, and support staff.

Requirements:
- Graduate of an accredited RN program
- Valid WV Registered Nursing License
- Three years of experience as an RN (in a primary care setting preferred)
- Excellent communication skills and understanding of patient care
- Knowledge of the Patient-Centered Medical Home model/mission
- Knowledge of insurance practices and requirements
- Knowledge and understanding of chronic disease and preventative care measures and their impact on patient health and well-being
- Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office, and ability to utilize electronic health record
- Ability to use good judgment and critical thinking skills
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationship with patients, families, medical staff, and coworkers
- Ability to self-motivate and prioritize and be willing to invest in a change process to improve effectiveness
- Ability to determine own priorities and to work with little supervision

The Robert C. Byrd Clinic, Lewisburg West Virginia

• Work collaboratively in a collegial multi-specialty group of 30+ active medical providers providing a full range of primary care services for all age groups

• Full-time, outpatient opportunity; utilizes hospitalist group for admissions

• Uses Athena EHR

• Clinic hours are Monday through Friday with limited Saturday

• Call coverage: one full week rotation approximately every 6-8 weeks (low volume); on-call physician provides Saturday morning clinic hours
